CALDE® MAG TUN improves the eco profile of the tundish lining solutions
Over the last few years, the tundish has become a powerful reactor through advances in thermal profiles, innovations in flow dynamics, as well as newer technologies and products to improve inclusion removal.
Calderys is now tackling the next challenge, namely the CO2 footprint emission.
Lining these vessels with a wet spray material is a relatively high-consumer of energy for dry-out. CALDE® MAG TUN has been developed by Calderys experts to drastically reduce the required energy. Based on the first measure at industrial regular use, it could reduce the consumption of natural gas up to 100,000m3 per year for a standard average steel plant.
Such a reduction leads to a global improvement of the Ecoprofile, which is reflected by the following climate change indicator.
This new approach is addressing one of the key-challenges of the Steel Industry, the reduction of the CO2 emission, is an important step in Caldery's journey to improve the global efficiency and to reduce the global footprint of the tundish/casting process-steps.
