Wankaner: a school that grows with its students

The inauguration of a new second floor opens the way to Senior Secondary education at DAV Calderys Public School.

On 1 October, Calderys team in India gathered in Wankaner, Gujarat, to inaugurate the new second floor of DAV Calderys Public School, a milestone that takes the school into its next chapter: Senior Secondary education.

A school that has grown year after year

The school opened in 2020. In 2025, it became affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). This year, it welcomed its first high-school batch. From 2027–28, it will offer Classes 11 and 12. Today, the school has around 330 students and 20 teachers.

Continuity, at the heart of the project

Behind these dates is a simple idea: continuity. A child can start here, grow here, discover their strengths here, and continue their education through the senior secondary years without having to leave the institution.

The new floor adds classrooms, laboratories and a multipurpose hall. But what matters most is what these spaces will enable: curiosity, practical learning, confidence, friendships and ambition, and the freedom for students to imagine a bigger future in Wankaner.

"Education does not only give us knowledge; it gives us the confidence, the ability to make our own decisions, and, most importantly, the opportunity to shape our own future." Ish Mohan Garg, SVP APAC, Calderys

A shared achievement

This milestone was made possible by many people: the Calderys Wankaner team, the school team, the local community and the guests who joined us for the inauguration, including Kesridevsinh Jhala, Member of Parliament and Maharaja of Wankaner. Above all, it belongs to the students, for whom this is a space to learn, question, experiment, grow and dream.

Part of a longer commitment to education

Education is the biggest of Calderys' commitments in India. Together with DAV, Calderys runs two schools, in Katni (Madhya Pradesh) and Wankaner (Gujarat), educating more than 1,400 students between them. The Wankaner school is expected to grow to 550 students by 2029 [to confirm].

For Calderys, the new floor in Wankaner is another step in our commitment to creating opportunities that can truly last.
