Sustainability in Action: Celebrating the Calderys Sustainability Awards 2025 Winners

From safety standardization across EMEA to greener steel casting fluxes in Brazil and a faster, cleaner furnace commissioning solution, our 2025 winners are proof that sustainability and performance go hand in hand.

At Calderys, sustainability takes shape through the initiatives led by our teams on the ground, across regions and functions. The Calderys Sustainability Awards, launched in 2023, exist to recognize and celebrate this commitment.

On March 26th, 2026, teams came together to London to honor the winners of our 2025 edition, teams whose work has made a measurable difference in health and safety, environmental impact, and customer value.

The Awards

The Sustainability Awards are open to all companies and teams within the Calderys Group and are structured around three pillars: Commitment to our People and Communities, Improvement of our Environmental Footprint, and Support to our Customers in their Energy Transition.

Top Winner – People & Communities: Operating Safety Procedures (EMEA)

The EMEA Installation Safety team developed 66 simplified, one-pager Operating Safety Procedures covering machines, tasks and other safety-critical topics — now available in 12 languages and mandatory across all EMEA installation projects. This initiative has contributed to strengthening safety practices in the field and supported improvements in injury frequency rates over time, alongside other ongoing efforts across our operations.

Top Winner – Environmental Footprint: Greener Alternative in Mold Flux Production (Brazil)

The team in Brazil explored the use of a renewable, bio-based alternative to conventional carbon in mold flux production. Through extensive research, laboratory validation, and customer trials, the initiative validated a greener approach to manufacturing without compromising product performance — creating a foundation for broader application in the future.

Top Winner – Customer Satisfaction: CALDE® FD Monolithics (Global)

Led by the Innovation & Technology team in Neuwied, Germany, this global project developed a hydraulic-bonded monolithic solution that allows furnace operators to save up to 72 hours to reach a temperature of 1,200°C, helping them save energy during their operations in aluminum furnaces, rotary kilns, and reheat furnaces.

Special ExCo Prize: Climate Disaster Preparedness – Empowering Employees (Taiwan)

As climate events grow more frequent and severe, the Taiwan team developed a comprehensive disaster preparedness program for employees — including training, emergency kits, early prevention measures, and financial support mechanisms. Their work ensures that colleagues are not only equipped to respond to crises but are supported through recovery.

We congratulate all winners, and all the teams who took part in the 2025 Sustainability Awards. Your commitment to a more sustainable future inspires us all.
