Calderys and HWI have a selection of products that help copper producers combat various wear mechanisms, such as combustion, thermal shock, slag corrosion and abrasion in the furnace:

• The NARMAG® and SUPER NARMAG® range: specifically designed for high-wear areas with a strong emphasis placed on corrosion resistance and porosity reduction to withstand constant contact with slag, copper matte, and copper oxide. These ranges also have extreme mechanical flexibility, which is critical in the tuyere line due to the batch processing nature of these furnaces.
• The AUREX® range consists of  Alumina-Chrome bricks. They offer an excellent thermal shock resistance and are perfectly suited to the primary copper anode refining furnaces and in secondary copper refining furnaces.
• The CALDE® CAST features castables that have different raw materials depending on the desired outcome such as andalusite, bauxite, tabular alumina, silicone carbide. These products withstand the high temperatures of copper foundries as well as the erosive and corrosive effects of slag.
• The SILICA MIX range is a silica-based refractory range tailored to the lining of coreless induction furnaces for melting and holding copper. It offers excellent thermal stability, strong resistance to chemical attacks, ultra-low surface porosity and a relatively low density.
