Calderys expands foundry melting solutions with optimized refractory package

CALDE® MICA is the Group’s newest addition to its refractory portfolio, optimized for foundry operators.
Calderys continues to support foundry operators with solutions designed to improve operational reliability, equipment protection and maintenance efficiency in induction melting applications. By combining proven refractory lining materials with complementary furnace protection products, Calderys addresses key challenges faced during daily operations and relining cycles.
CALDE® MICA: coil protection and relining efficiency
To complement refractory lining performance, Calderys has introduced the CALDE® MICA range, designed for installation between the induction coil and the refractory lining.
CALDE® MICA sheets provide excellent electrical insulation, helping protect the coil during furnace operation. They also act as a physical barrier against the event of depositions in the silica, reducing coil contamination over time. In addition, CALDE® MICA functions as a slip plane, facilitating easier and more controlled push-out during relining operations and helping preserve furnace geometry.
Used together with CALDE® SILICA MIX, CALDE® MICA supports safer furnace operation, reduced maintenance constraints and improved control of lining replacement cycles.
A central element of this approach is CALDE® SILICA MIX, a high-performance silica-based refractory lining solution for coreless induction furnaces. Produced from premium Swedish micro-crystalline quartzite, CALDE® SILICA MIX delivers consistent lining behavior, controlled sintering and reliable performance under demanding melting conditions. When used together, CALDE® SILICA MIX and CALDE® MICA support higher melt efficiency, increased number of heats per lining, and improved total cost of ownership for foundry operators.

A secured access to the new CALDE® MICA range in EMEA
